you implide that the compresser was a replacement, is it? did you put a used one on or is this the oe we're talking about?

if it is used or oe there is a good chance the wear on the clutch is causing it not to engage. IE excessive air gap.

jump power & ground to the clutch connector, polarity is unimportant, it's an electro mag & will work regardless.

Either it doesn't work or the problem lies elswhere.

I found the ground that wasn't attached. Stupid me ! There is a ground that bolts in right above the coil. it had broken off and wasn't making a good connection. I appreasiate all the advice. It was all good expecially the post about how freeon was flammable and I could had bbq'ed myself overfilling it the first time. lol

Sound like You have a bad clutch. Check the clutch by looking at the plug. You should see a dark blue with black stripe wire. That is positive. The other black wire is ground. Unplug the connector and apply battery voltage by jumping the clutch wires. If clutch click you have other problem. If not clutch no good.
