Default Buying 2000 Dodge Durango

Hello Dodge Fans,

I am looking at buying 2000 Dodge Durango.
It has 185,521 miles on it.
Engine: 4.7L V8 MPI.
SUV 4D - Lower Mid Range.
Asking price: $3900.00

I am looking for some advice from you before I put my hard earned money into it?

What are some potential problems I may see in the future?
What’s regular maintenance cost?
Can 2000 Dodge Durango run smoothly more than 250,000 miles?
What would be the resale value after 250,000 miles when I want to sell it?

Is this a worth investment? I appreciate your time in giving me some advice and thanks in advance!

if it is a 4x4 then the ball joints are a weak point, when they get loose put a set of moog greaseable joints on there and you will be all set, the transmisison is pretty solid on the 4.7 engine as long as you take care of it (change the fluid regularly) and make sure that they have good maintance records, although with the truck having that many miles on it id say it probably has been. 250,000 im sure it could do that if it has been maintained and you continue to maintain it properly, the resale value at that point??? i have NO CLUE but that is ALOT of miles to have on a gasoline engine

That is too much cash for the 1st gen 4.7 in the D. Not to many 200k+ 4.7s. Most high milers are the big boys.

+1, IF it was the 5.9, you have 65k more miles in it or so before real worry sets in.

$2700 sounds a lot better for that Ds description.
