Default alittle pressure taken off?

Hey all maybe u can help shed some light. its a 2001 durango SLT plus with the 5.9l has everything except for the rear air. i got a call this morning my mom saying she cant get the car started. so i drove over where she was letting the dogs have fun well battery is fine lights come on. heres the werid thing. no light up on the dah no mileage and no postion of the transmission put the key in no ding with the door unless u push it then it dings but the key will not move at all. yes i tryed moving the wheel it was not locked i moved it a good amount. the key will not turn in either direction. I beleive the igintion took a **** or it got locked up. my dad told me to try rockin the truck but that didn't work. has this happen to anyone? truck has about 115,000 miles on it. any insight? thanks all

when you put the key in your saying it would not turn??? did you try a different key (maybe that one is too worn down???) if a NEW key wont turn in the ignition i would look at replacing the piece that the key turns

and sometimes the batteries in the Durangos can be bad even if they will still run the lights and turn it over pretty well, but that would be evident by problems staying running

another thing, have you had the dash or steering column apart recently that there could be something as stupidly simple as a loose wire/ground???

if i think of anything else ill let ya know

If the key won't turn nothing will light up on the dash. If the key won't turn you kinda have the problem poking you right in the face.

I'll side with Hydra, need more info.
