Smoke coming in through the middle vents
P.S: Your engine size for 99 should be 5.2 or 5.9 I believe. It should say on the emissions label under the hood.
Also, welcome aboard, there is a varied knowledge data base of owners on here, with various models, equipment, engines, suspensions and geographic areas of the country and world that can provide information on a wide range of subjects.....some of it even Durango related....LOL!!!!!! Don;t be a stranger, if you find a fix, share with us...... come on in the waters fine!!!
You already know about Indys Voodoo doll, that is a big step.

Thanks folks.
I just went out and I drove around a bit. It smoked/vapored when I had the AC on Max AC. The console said 67-68F but I had that puppy on high. I'm thinking it's condensation as I don't smell anything but I'll have a purer nose take a whiff too.

It looks like it's definitely condensation. I had no idea that the Durango's AC is THAT strong. It goes from unbearably hot to ice cold in about 30 seconds. I finally had a passenger that could check things out while I was driving and he said it was as cold as ice in front of the vent.
Whew! false alarm.

I actually had a car that blew so cold that it was actually snowing inside the vehicle. One day in the summer time, I had my mother-in-law in the car and she saw that and said, there is something wrong with your car, it is snowing! I said, no it is fine, it always snows like this in the summer time. That was with the R12 system and believe me, that was a colder type of system back then.
Thanks for posting the video. Fortunately, I don't notice a smell.
I only have a little work left to do and it will be exactly how I want it!
1. Tighten up or replace the steering box. (already read the instructions on here). Tightening it up doesn't seem so bad. Replacing it scares me.
2. New bug shields. I'm missing the big one in the middle but the other two are worn so they have to go.
3. The headliner is coming down a bit. It's not bad right now so maybe I can just get some spray on adhesive before it gets really bad.
4. Fix the middle console box. The latch doesn't catch anymore.
5. Replace the front end shocks and struts. They're fine right now but my mechanic says one needs to be done at some point. I did this with my buddy on his Jeep so no big surprises here.
6. Touch up a few scratches here and there.
7. Get new floor mats for the driver and passenger side.
Then it will be stock!
I want to toss on some aftermarket running bars since the stock ones are mostly for decoration.
I love this SUV so much. It's an awesome truck. I've driven a few SUVs and trucks but this one makes me feel like a king even if it is 11 years old. There is something awesome about that Dodge emblem on the hood.

these trucks only have shocks no struts, but they are easy to do,
and which part of the console latch broke? if its the lid you might be able to just get a new one at a junk yard, sounds to me like you are well on your way to taking care of the truck
