Default Oil Pressure '02 4.7

Is it normal for the oil pressure guage to read just above 1/4 at idle and move to just under 3/4 at full throttle? My '04 Ram stays pretty consistent, but this Durango I just picked up has me a little nervous with that. I am thinking it's normal but would like confirmation :-)

my 99 with a5.2 engine and anew sensor along with an engine flush and oil change has the same readings. I did all this because the previous owner did not believe in oil changes, and the engine and sensor were getting gunked with sludge. Having bought the truck 2 months ago, this was just one more thing to do to start my own maintence schedule.

one more thing about the pressure sensor..... it was so bad that the gauge would go from 40 to flatline for an indefinite period and then back to 40 or beyond again. The flush, new sensor, and oil change took care of the problems.

Thanks for posting this hozz! I was getting concerned about that as well. I had a mechanic check it out and he said everything looked great. He said that was just probably normal.
