Default Keyless entry?

I have a 99 Durango 5.2 2WD that I recently bought used. I used the Search and also spent several hours reading and learning about this SUV and could find no mention to what I am looking for.

It has all the bells and whistles; power everything, leather interior, towing package etc. I can't imagine that this didn't come factory with keyless entry. It has no key fob and I am wondering how to tell 2 things:
#1. Will the VIN tell me anything about whether it was on this SUV?
#2. How do I find out what the code is so that I can can get another fob that will open it up?

Thanks,
Steve

you should be able to request a build sheet from
http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/
or call your local dealer with the vin # and they should be able to get you one.

and you would buy a key fob (or two) and have them programmed to it by the dealer, unless you already have a properly programmed key fob it is the only way to do it.

They came OEM with 2 key FOB's. You should get the amount (whether 1 or 2) key FOB's and take them to the dealer for a flash into the CTM. About 60-80 bucks and they need all the key FOB's as well.
