Default Slow rear wiper

The rear wiper on my 2002 Dodge Durango is very slow and sometimes stops during operation. Any suggestions as to why and how to fix it?

Replace the motor would be my first choice.

Yep, replace the motor. It may drain your battery without you knowing it. Happened to someone on here.

From my '01: Remove the wiper assembly by opening the bolt cover by pulling up the cover to reveal the nut. Remove nut and save in safe place, you'll need it again. Gently rock the assembly back and forth until loose. Don't try to pry with large screwdiver, you may mark up th paint. Once the arm is removerd, set aside. Open rear gate, remove the top of the trim by pulling sharply away from the gate towards you. The bottom trim piece is held on by screws( two on the upper portion and two on the bottom of the trim). Pull trim away like the one for the top. Be careful of any wiring and connections. Set trim pieces aside, mark or photgraph any connections for later use. IIRC, the motor is a bolt on so removal and install would be pretty straight forward. I'd go to the dealer for the part cause it sounds like a pretty hard piece of equiptment to get. Install everything in reverse and you're done. Disclaimer: This is from memory of a prior attempt to put in a back up camera. didn't work out so left it alone. Your rear gate and all associated parts may be different.
I hope it works out for you.
