Default Has anyone gutted their muffler?

So today my state passed a law that states NO AFTERMARKET EXHAUST THAT IS INTENDED TO AMPLIFY NOISE. So if I put my flowmaster on, and get pulled over, they can charge me for having an aftermarket exhaust. Well, I was wondering if anyone has gutted their muffler, or half gutted.

Is their glass pack in my muffler, or is it a series of multiple chambers?

It is a multi-chamber muffler, would be real hard to gut it out unless you cut it open and weld it back up.

they'll still give you a ticket if you mod your stock exhaust to be louder

Ok im gonna speak on what i have learned from modin previous cars. 1st cutting off, Blowing out sticking a random muf on your Car/truck can turn out to be worst sometimes then stock. Back pressure is very important to car/truck Thats why i have never understood these kids that have a 4 banger and put a 3in all the way back. The truth is you are losing out on power.

2 things 1st off i live in FL and im pretty sure my car could be on fire with a dead hooker in the back and they wouldn’t pull me over but i have been pulled over for my exhaust being to loud(to be honest it was pretty loud). An i told the guy the car was like that when i got the car and they gave me a warning no prob.

2nd what about a turbo muffler. They quit down it a lot. my old set up i had a glass pack that was almost 3ft into a turbo muffler and it was not that loud till i got on it but it wasn’t on a Durango
An the most important thing I have learned is you can get a home made system all you want but you are not gonna gain as much power as you would from a good cat-back they are tested and made to work with your specific system.
