Red face 1999 Dodge Durango Up Shifting Problem

This is my problem. With my cruise control set at 55-60+ mph and pulling a steep grade. The transmission will down shift into low gear and the rpm’s will rise to 3500-4000 and pull the vehicle to the top of the grade. Once the vehicle reaches the top and levels out however. The transmission will not up shift. It stays in low gear until you turn off the cruise control. You can then resume and everything is fine again. It will also do the same thing when you accelerate hard during passing. But when you let off on the gas, it up shifts and everything is good. Most grades are not a problem and the vehicle handles them fine. Normal driving is great and it has good aceleration.
I have a 1999 Dodge Durango SLT+ with a 5.2 liter V8, automatic transmission, 4x4, 176,000 miles, 9.25 Differential, 3.92 gears, Heavy Duty Service Group.
I have done the following:
New Plugs, Wires and Coil,
Throttle Position Sensor
Transmission Fluid ATF4 and Filter
Adjusted Front and Rear Bands
Adjusted Throttle Cable
New Transmission Speed Sensor and rear ABS Differential Speed Sensor
This is my first post and I want to say you have a great forum here! I have learned a lot from you all!
Thanks! And I look forward to your help!

A) Do not use cruise control going up steep grades

B) Consider not using overdrive going up steep grades

C) Resume regular driving, seems fine and predictable to me considering...

Thanks! IndyDurango for your reply! Yes, I could stop using cruise control and overdrive. And this problem is very predictable.

However, the vehicle is not right and should up shift after climbing a grade. I would like to correct this problem before it gets worse.

Do you have any ideas what is causing problem?

Thanks shrpshtr325 for the info! I did adjust the TV cable previously and had found some improvement at that time. So, I took another look at the TV cable today and made some additional adjustments. This resulted in even better acceleration and better shifting. However, it did not solve the problem of up shifting after climbing a grade. I will tweak it a little more tomorrow and see what affect this has.
