My rearview mirror has an off and an auto button on it. whats it for?

autodimming for the headlights behind you, when it is on there will be a green hue to bright lights at night, when it is off you will go blind

It also dims the passenger side mirror as well but not the drivers.

i have never noticed the passenger side mirror dim, EVER only the rearview . . .

That's the way it was on my old 1998? Check the owners manual on yours!

Na. Just the rear view.

Being in the cab, it could be the turboencabulator button.

Well, that's what my owners manual stated and I looked into it and the mirror was dimmed?
