2000 Durango Transmission Lurches
i would expect you to start having more problems with your trans dscdad, a tranny flush blows anything in the lines through the filter and is known to damage and weaken seals, the correct way to do it is to just change the fluid, if you want to you can run the truck to pump the old fluid out and have all the fluid be fresh
Flushing the transmission may be more harmful than helpful. You can do a tranny fluid drain and replace, change out the filter(s), adjust the bands (for 5.x) and be done with it. Also, use ATF+4 mopar or mopar approved oil. JMHO.
Bad news. I guess I jumped the gun by saying the the TPS solved the problem. But, sorry to say that the lurching is still there. My husband has said that may we should have the trans fluid and filters changed. Guess that's going to be the next step in this troubleshooting adventure.
Drop the pan and replace the filter, wipe the magnet, and adjust the bands on your 46RE. Refill with ATF+4 ONLY! You should need about 8 quarts. So far I like the Valvoline Fully Synthetic ATF+4 or dealer ATF+4.
If you don't feel good about doing it take the fluid and filter to your local mechanic and ask him ONLY use YOUR fluid and if it needs topped off you will buy more. Don't let them put multi-vehical ATF in that trans.
