Hi guys. I have an 03 Durango. When I put my key in the ignition, I can't turn the key to start the truck. I have to play around with it for about 3-4 minutes before it'll turn & start. Once I finally start it, it's fine for a couple of days...but then it happens again. I have 2 keys & it's the same problem with both. Just wondering if there's anything I can do about it, or if I should have the ignition switch replaced. Thanks guys.

 

DO you lock your wheel when this happens? If so stop turing the wheel and make sure it is straight when parking BEFORE you turn off the truck.

 

Do you have extra stuff hanging from the key ring?

If you do after time the ignition switch goes bad due to the weight!!!

 

One of two things.

Key cylinder or the steering wheel lockout.
