just swapped out the relay for the headlamps. still nothing. something that i did notice however, on the passenger side under the hood, i was looking at the headlamp wiring and notice a wire that wasnt plugged into anything coming out the the mass of taped wires just next to the horn. any idea what this goes to?

Could be the ouside temp harness, but I dont have my files to look.

got the headlights working. turns out it was a ground. tomorrow ill start on trying to find the short on the reverse lights

so i unplugged and removed the switch from the tranny and the fuse still blew when i put in a new one and turned the key. any other ideas on what it could be?

the fuse blew when you turned the key or when you put it in reverse??

I would unplug it and place a fuse in the dash and see if it blows. If not then I would suspect the switch or a short down stream. You could test with resistance or continuity to ground looking for a short on the down stream side once you take both the reverse light bulbs out. If there is no short replace the switch. If there is a short fix it.

im confused. if the fuse still blows with the switch unplugged and removed from the tranny completely the its possible that it would be the switch still?
