+1 SS. As I read the OP, I assumed he was hearing it in the speakers, perhaps I am wrong.

If he is, that's EMI (electromagnetic interference.)

Mine will sometimes whine when stuff is plugged into the cig lighters.

i dont think its from the speakers, i hear it when the cars on when i have some one rev it and im standing besides it. and when i rev it from the engine bay. rpms effect how loud it is. but i dont think its form the speakers

If it is more a high pitched whistle, change the serpentine belt tensioner. I had the one on my 4.7 in my Grand Cherokee make a high pitched noise. Chased it down to the tensioner, bearing in the tensioner must have been going.

I'm still going with transmission whine. But it's natural, I think.
