While on the subject of gauges how do I determine which alternator we have (135 amp or 160 amp)?

Not to sound like an azz, but you can see what kind of alt you have by opening the hood and reqding the sticker that's attacked to your alt.

No the "Check Gages" light does not throw a CEL code.


BTW<--------You should have a 136 amp alternator OEM.

Even with the tow package it should be a 136 amp as standard. I know of the 160 amp and I believe that it was an after market only.
