please help,

my 2001 durango rt drives perfect in the drive position but wont go in reverse. any ideas or is the tranny gone.

 

Sorry u probably need a rebuild that happened to mine and me and my tranny guy took it apart and the clutch were gone the steels were burnt any the drums were skoared this was three months after my tranny was rebuilt by some one I thought new Wat they were doing so find a good shop to fix it I got hooked up mine was 800 with the sure cure kit

 

it sounds to me like you need a transmission rebuild too, unfortunately

Get the sure cure shift kit and tell them to use 2 shims it's a 15 pound pressure boost firm shifts drive way better and it shift at a slightly highr rpm

 

I'd install a Transgo Shift Kit and a new oversized torque convertor while your there.
