Default What is the difference between NV233 & NV244 switches???

The local dealership sold me a selector switch for a 01 Durango that has a NV233 transfer case. They said they pulled the part number by vin number but my wife brought home a switch made for the NV244. I know there is a difference in just the positions (2WD versus AWD, but the others being 4HI and 4LO are the same). What is the chance of this switch actually working with the different transfer case? I have tried 2 switches and they are both showing no voltage going out of the switch.

I don't know if I would trust it. If you open it then you own it as the dealer will not take it back. I would just get the correct version. To tell you the truth, I would think it would work but I wouldn't install it because it simply is the wrong switch.
