I ust got new GoodYear silentarmors about 3 weeks ago. So far they seem to be pretty good. I went up 1 tire size also. Factory is p265/70r16, I went to a p265/75r16. They rub a little when I turn all the way and have some flex on the suspension from the hill to the driveway.

The best thing I ever did to my 01 with a 4.7 was to get rid of the GoodYears and put Firestone Destination LE's on it. Whole different ball game in the snow. Don't know where you live but the stockers made that truck push the snow something firece. The Destination LE's cut right through and are nice and quiet.

Also - so impressed with the Destination LE's that I dumped the Yokohama's on my summer wheels for the Firestones. I have no affiliation with Firestone and do not know anybody who does but I'm telling you that it is a much better set of rubber for our trucks.
YOKOHAMA's suck by the way. Complete F'n garbage.

When you say goodyear silent armor do you mean the fortera silent armor or the wrangler silent armor? because there is a difference and its HUGE!!!

the wrangler silent armor's are severe weather rated and from what i hear they do well. i had the fortera silent armor and it was the wrost tire ever!!

They wore out so damn fast and traction on anything but dry weather was horrible!

i just got 400 dollars back for em from discount tire.

i claimed a mileage warranty on em. they are rated for 70 thousand and i got 29 thousand out of em. they had worn down to 4-5/32nds

and i live out in Minnesota. we already had a HUGE winter storm where we got 10 inches of snow like last saturday. i had just got the bfg ta ko's two days before so i was set lol!!

Your talking about the "Fortera Silent Armor" and not the "Silent Armor" tires! Ya there is a huge difference in the 2 of them.

Fortera Silent Armor

Silent Armor

ajoshi, It is the GY Wrangler SilentArmor. It had the best rating just short of putting snow tires on. http://www.goodyeartires.com/tire/wrangler-silentarmor/

The Forturas would not cut it for me, because they looks like something grandma would have on her 1985 Dodge Diplomat (hahaha)!! I was looking at ratings for winter traction and bad and inclimate weather because winters s*ck in NH.I live on the top of a mountain and it wasn't fun last year with almost bald tires on a 1 1/4 mile trip up or down the steep hill!!!! I always had pretty good luck with GY tires.
