Question Idling issues... 2001 Durango 5.9 RT

Ya'll have kept me out of the shop so much...

It all started from replacing the lower radiator hose. I know NOTHING to do with idling. But after he replaced it, it bubbled up and radiator fluid spewed everywhere when he was "burping" it. Engine running and idling fine at this point...

THEN after he hosed the engine (not high pressure, just garden hose water) it revs like the pedal is down to the floor and has idled wrong since.

It threw two codes, both TPS related. So that was an easy replace. But still not better.
I believe I now own TWO perfectly good TPS's for my truck... But now the TPS codes are gone...

It still dies when I drive it and take my foot off the gas.
So I think this needs to be cleaned out. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/432783-post4.html

I love my Durango RT and love that I can find how to fix it EVERY TIME here!

Any other ideas about why/what the water/radiator fluid spewing could have cause this idling issue??

you got water in something, maybe the IAC motor, maybe the computer, if you have a sunny day leave the hood open and let everything dry out good, i hope that you did not short out the computer (if it stayed dry you should be fine), but something is shorted or shorting from the water, its just a matter of figuring out what, and the IAC motor would be my first guess, im sure others will have their own suggestions.

as a side note, i hope that you covered the PCM, alternator and battery when hosing down the engine so that they would stay dry.

Clean the entire TB like I stated in the thread you posted, and blow out each the harnesses plugging into the TB sensors with compressed air. Then reset the PCM https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ine-light.html

Runs great now ya'll! THANK YOU AGAIN!

At first I thought it was riding rough, but then I remembered my truck RUNS ROUGH lol
I had been driving our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab and it runs like butter!

Happy to have my truck back and not be driving the smooth big beast anymore!

Thanks again!

I had to work yesterday so did not have time to clean the entire TB.
I hope to get to it soon, the IAC was THICK BLACK.
