Want to buy Posi Rear for 02 Durango.
I have an 02 Durango with the 4.7 and 4x4. It has an open rear-end. On the white sticker in the glovebox it says "corporate 9" and that I have 3.55 gears. I'm guessing that "corporate 9" means I have the 9.25 rear-end. My question is where can I buy a posi rear carrier for this and what would be a good brand? I'd like to get new. Thanks.
Yes,
You have a Chrysler 9.25 differential with 3.55 gears. They do make a Posi carrier or you can get lockers as well. http://www.ringpinion.com/

Would an Auburn limited slip diff. be a good choice? I see they're not rebuildable. On average how long do they last? I dont take it off road too much. I'm looking for more traction for the snow. Thanks.
Detroit's are gear drivin, and Auburn are clutch.
This question would be one for your style of driving. The Detroit is mainly for more off road then on. The Auburn is more of and on road but works well off road.
Gears have no forgiveness, whereas clutchs do.

I have been reading a little about both and it seems the Detroit Truetrac is better than the Auburn for snow/ice conditions. Is this true? Would the Detroit be better in snowy on-road driving than my open diff. now? Thanks.
