Dome light problem
My 03 Durango will only turn on my dome lights when the drivers door or rear hatch is opened. If I open any of the other passenger doors, my dome lights will not turn on. Where do I start?
i would start by checking the switches in the doors, and the wiring, and in the meantime i am going to ask if you have had any other weird electrical issues which seem unrelated (ANYTHING ELECTRICAL AT ALL???) if you have other electrical problems i would look into the CTM being the problem.
WhiteWidow00: No, the door ajar light does not work on an of the other 3 doors. I checked the 2 20amp fuses in the power dist. block last night, both OK. I think I might have it narrowed down to the CTM or a break in the tan/red wire. Should I try an impedance test on this wire? Can anyone tell me where the CTM is and how the wire travels through the vehicle?
Also, the only other electrical problem I have is that the drivers seat warmer stopped working. Passenger seat works (Wife's happy). I'm pretty sure I just need to roll the leather back and repair the broken wire.
yea the heated seat is a broken wire in the heater element, not related, i would check the wiring for a break before jumping to the ctm conclusion, an ohm meter will help alot with this, especially one w/ beeping continuity check
Thanks shrpshtr325, I'll see if I can find a break (I hope so). I'll let you know what I find. I appreciate the help.

I have the same problem with my drivers door. I'm pretty sure it's the part that lets the vehicle know when a door is open or not. Have yet to find a fix for this that doesn't require replacing the door latch.
Like hydra said the latch mist be replace. I would start by probably replacing a door latch on one of them (cost about 70$ for the latch and like an hour of your time) and if that works there's your problem.
