Mine says the same thing but has the limited slip diff in back. Doesn't mention anything about if it is or not.

I just a while back did the test Hydra said and that's how I found out.

Yeah, unfortunately all LD stands for is Light Duty. Doesn't tell much if it has a limited slip or not.

Yeah well i ought to jack the truck up and check it though i have no doubt its open. If I found an older durango at a U-Pull It with a LSD im pretty sure it would be a bolt on upgrade but then you have no way of really knowing what condition the gears are in without tearing it apart. I might as well buy a locker and have it installed. It kind of irritates me that the guy i bought it from didnt get a LSD or full ABS, he was definitely a rich guy. Then again he probably had no clue what those meant.

Yeah he probably didn't know the difference. Some people don't really care either.

Yeah im considering on making the SOB a LS but im not entirely sure if i want to do that yet because ive only had this beast for three days and dont know how parets will hold up. I also dont really care to pay the outrageous mechanic fees for installation.

if your fan was staying engaged throughout your entire ride then your clutch is seized up, you should NOT be able to hear your fan during normal driving.
you can check if the fan is seized up by opening the hood(engine off of course) and spinning the fan by hand, if it stops when you let go of it its siezed, if it spins more than 1/2 a turn its wore out, the fan will always spin visually, but it will not put a significant load on the engine (you shouldnt hear or feel it) under normal situation if it is working properly

Why must Dodge be so slow?
why did dodge use a clutch fan? because it is a more RELIABLE way to cool the engine, is cheaper, its more effective than most electric fans in the same price range, if you look at big rigs, most of them still have clutch fans in them too, dodge built these trucks to have best in class towing/power to do this they needed a better (bigger) engine, which requires better cooling than the ford or most of their competitors, now if you are not towing an electric fan swap can be done cheaply (dont need the high volume electric fans which are expensive) to free up a couple of hp and make you feel better.

Hm that makes sense, as of yet I dont tow anything but I cant say that i never will. I also just checked my fan again and after a good push it travels about 5-6 inches and stops. Maybe the beginning of a cluch failure?

And is there any way to get emails when someone replies on my posts? I am not enjoying the guessing and random check game.
