Default Brake/ABS Light

ABS/Brake light are coming on ocassionally on the 99 5.2 Durango. Have read that the sensor on the rear axle is what I need to replace. But from reading it was mostly stated that it was for 4 wheel ABS. Got my build sheet and I only have rear ABS. Thoughts on if it is still the sensor? Where is it at on the rear axle?

you misread the posts, that light is either the rear wheel abs sensor, or the output speed sensor on the transmission

Can anything else cause this? Mine started coming on intermittently immediately after I replaced one of the front hub assemblies... ABS still works fine though, both when the lights are on and when they're not.

Corey, since it came on immediately after you replaced the hub assembly, check the connections to the brakes and the ABS on the brakes since removal of the rotors and calipers is mandatory to replace the hub.

A good thing to keep in mine, if something goes wrong after you just fix something, typically has to do with what you fixed.

if you just replaced the front hub, there ARE abs sensors in the front hubs if you have 4wheel abs, i would check to make sure that sensor is plugged in nice and tight if not that sensor might be bad

This means he does not have 4 wheel ABS, instead he only has 2 wheel ABS. There should be no front wheel ABS sensors on the front bearings of these trucks. The only 2 sensors that should cause a code with 2 wheel ABS should be the rear axle ABS sensor or the output trans sensor. I would replace the rear axle sensor. It is located on the top of the rear differential. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ensor-diy.html
