Default Little more power

I have a 2002 durango with the 5.9 and a cold air kit with dual exhaust. I pull a boat that weighs in around 3000lb and am lookin for a little more power when pulling. Has anybody done minor upgrades without goin in the engine that helped? I don't know anything about chips or programers so any input yall have will help.

Bolts ons are going to add 5-20HP per modification. Solo, you aren't going to feel much. Combine enough of them and you will feel it in the end. However... this all that said, a 3000lb pull is nothing actually for the D.

+1 Indy

I pull a 7,000 lb cargo trailer all day long and have been for 70% of its life and it pulls like a champ. I gave a SuperChips power programmer like Indy stated and it's got a program meant for towing that gives more torque. What rear end do you have also because upgrading that could help a lot too.

The gear in mine is 3.55 and it has the tow package with anti spin diff. I like the sound of a programer because the engine runs to good to mess with. I am thinkin about the tb upgrade and just going with a programer. Thank yall for the info and the good links.

Yeah fastman makes a great tb and the SuperChips I'd an awesome programmer, it's what I use and I have NO complaints.

Also if you were wanting to you would get more torque from a 3.92 rear end (talking from experience).

You can always go to a 4.10 gearing like I'm going!......
