i thought about making my own which will be my next option if i dont get one from one of the parts trucks. i just want it to be very reliable, i.e. not falling off sometimes. especially with how agressive i drive, on top of offroading

The Neutral/park safety switch for a 1998 has 3 wires on it. It has a clip on top and the pin outs are straight across.

You should be able to find a harness of a RAM, DAK, or DUR of about 1997-1999 model years if applicable.
