Default New Bumper

Anybody have any good sorce for a new steel bumper? I have checked all the salvage yards around and all have rust holes in them. I check JCWhitney and they have one for just of $200 but i would like to get one cheeper if possible. Also looking for a rocker repair panel. Oh and its for a 2000 Durango.

Thanks
Jason

+1 on LMC truck

Also try checking eBay. There's always random parts for cheap.

Jason,

Just out of curiosity, does your Durango happen to be white? Seems like all of the white Durangos I see around here, including my own, have major rust issues on the front bumper. Other colors don't seem to have the rust... I'm half convinced that there was a problem with the white paint they used in those years...

It's common enough that I also can't find one in good shape at a salvage yard. Think I'm just going to pull mine off and take it into a body shop for a repaint.

If you lived nearby I have a perfect 98-00 front bumper I removed from a CFC vehicle.

I was going to use it on my '99 but ended up finding a 01+ bumper and all it does is sit up in my attic.

No mine is the dark blue i picked it up in feb last year and noticed it had a few small bubbles of rust under the grill but then this weekend i noticed a golfball sized hole rusted thru on the pass side just before the wheel well. So far this is the best and newest car i have owned and would love to keep it looking sharp for as long as possible. Kinda hard with all the salt and snow. I will look into LMC and see what they have i knew they did alot for chevy but didnt know they covered dodge too. Thanks everybody!

Doesn't matter the color, all 98-00 Durango (or 97-00 Dakota) front bumpers rot on the metal part.

That's why I picked this one up for my '99.. Luck would have it a week or two later I find a 03 Dakota with a perfect bumper on it, and those never rot!

Here is my "spare"...

You could swap to the 2001-2003 series from a junker but you will need to get the mounting hardware as well. The newer series are full plastic and don't rust.
