Default Horribly off topic sorry

Hey, our family's other car is a 2008 Ford Escape with the v6 and auto... front wheel drive with 63k miles.

I looked and couldn't find a good Ford Escape forum so I thought I would ask here if anyone had knew a good one- or might know something about the transmissions.

My wife has started experiencing a little bit of slippage- or slow engaging- in cold weather taking off from a stop uphill (basically at metering lights getting on the freeway in the morning and once on the way home at night).

Not sure how long the tranny is supposed to last in these guys, but we are out of warranty on it so I'd like to catch whatever this is before it gets bad.

Thanks,

This is why I don't drive a Ford, I have had two trucks that both blew transmissions early, one after 60,000 miles and one after 37,000 miles.

Check this site out, its what I used when I had mine... Haven't been on it in years though so not sure how helpful it will be.

Your face is a Ford truck!

I wrote that joke.

Uh- thank you for the link- I book marked it and will register and browse tomorrow. It looks like plenty of traffic- the other escape forums I'd seen were pretty light.

Thanks,

My sister inlaw has a 2000 taurus and the trans just quit one day driving down the highway. The front pump just quit and that was it no warning just no power to the wheel no matter what gear.

We have owned 3 of them. 1 1997 that was totalled as a chev 3/4 ton ran into it at 55 mph. Liked it so much we bought an exact copy so another 1997 Taurus. Drove that tell 106k sold it and bought a Chev Blazer and a GMC 2500 (big mistake.....LOL), sold them and bought a 2004 Taurus and 1998 Durango, sold Durango bought 1999 Ram. THere were lots of others as well.

So the moral of the story is, we have had good luck with the Taurus, and I LOVE Mopar. Next car will most likely be Chrysler.
