Default 2000 5.9 won't start

I have a 2000 5.9 4x4 and it will not start. When I turn the key in the ignition, all I hear is a single *click* and then nothing. Not even the slightest bit of turning over. The battery is good, the starter is good, connections are good, fuses and relays are good. Any ideas?

Sounds like a connection is NOT good. Do your headlights, dome light, radio, etc work? Have you actually tested the starter and battery? Are you certain your battery has a good ground?

Yes. I've pulled both of them out and had them tested.

If your accessories work and the starter is clicking it's most likely a starter problem.

When you turn your key, and you instrument cluster lights up, does your voltmeter jump to 12'ish volts?

Another thought... make sure your truck is in park or neutral. Try playing with the shifter.

Neutral safety switch: located on the outside of the tranny, three wires leading to it.

Most likely a bad connection at the battery. If you double clean them with the same issue then most likely it's the starter.

Check your battery cables as well.

You can also have someone try to turn it over and feel the relay in the PDC to see if that is the actual "clicking" you hear. If it is, look for power down at the coil on the starter. If no power then you have a short between the relay and the starter. Personally, it sounds like a starter.
