Default 2000 Durango Electric Fan questions

Hello, First time asking questions here. Recently bought a used 2000 D. SLT 4X4 with 5.9L. I've read a lot of posts about this topic but haven't really found my answers.

First thing, electric fan not coming on with or w/o A/C. Checked for relay, it's missing from box under hood. Tried the fog lamp relay and it seems to just fall into socket, no resistance. It will just flop around in the slots and there are no female receptacles where it goes. The 30 amp fuse is in PDC box and checks good with ohm meter.

Is there another place for a relay?

Second thing, I have yet to find the 10 amp fuse in the fuse panel in dash. My lid doesn't show one either.

Am I overlooking something?

Thanks in advance,

BP

Also, I don't know if it matters but sticker on door reads mfg date 7/99.

Does anyone have a pic of their pdc box on a 2000 Durango so I could compare my fuses and relays?

The 1998-1999 did NOT come with an electric auxiliary fan. Only 2000-2003 had that option.

Concitering your Date Of Manufacture is 7/99 it might have not come with it. The 2000 was a cross over year......Never know on that one......LOL

If you have a electric fan then it sits between the main engine fan and radiator inside the shroud. Next, it sounds like if there is a plug in the relay pinout there really isn't any plugs inside of it and that is why it's loose and rattling around. Ensure you have the correct relay plug and that you actually have an electric auxiliary fan.

Thanks for the reply. It does have a clutch fan and electric fan. I just realized I was reading the diagram wrong. That mirror image threw me off. Going to try swapping relays again. Will post results later.

Thanks again!
