The filaments are fine. Im just not getting brake lights when i step on the brakes. The only thing I can assume is that there is something wrong with the line leading to the brakelights from the switch.

Yep you're going to have to trace a short or open wire somewhere. I'd start with wiring under the dash and near the brake light switch because those are most prone places to getting messed up or frayed.

Mine had this happen on one. Take the lights out and check the circuit board (metal ground piece) and make sure that they arent melted into the housing.

Also check the harness that the bulb plugs into, they like to corrode and not give proper connection. Clean and R&R. Also check the trailer hitch connections and block at the tail.

Default same issue

I am having this same issue. Replaced all bulbs and the brake switch. Still no brake lights. The center mount light doesnt work either. LIghts come on if I turn on headlights but even with brake pressed for that still no difference. I end up when hazards are on that the left one does not work in the back and the right one does work. I have no idea what is going on and all anyone can seem to tell me is to replace this huge block under the driver side dash.

Is your D wired up for a trailer? If yes, is it factory or not? If its not factory, these type of lights need a taillight converter box, to be wired up to a trailer. Sometimes these can go out on you and screw up your whole rear lighting. They are usually mounted inside the driver side brake light.

Default Same Prob!

So my brake lights stopped working as well all a sudden. Have a 02' D with factory tow package, had not towed anything recently. Went through the usual, checked all the fuses and relays and replaced all the fuses. hazards, running and turn indicators all work. Replaced the brake stop light switch and now trying a new brake light switch.

I have traced the power all the way to the switch. I am at a lose now, gona try to trace wires but all seems ok so far...

If anyone found any fixes i would love the feedback!!!!
