Power Steering pump rebuild
I'm a little confused about some power steering pump issues. I'd like to rebuild mine, but i'm not sure if these pumps are suited to rebuild, or if they need all kinds of machining etc. Why can't i seem to find a reservoir replacement?
Just as a rant: I've always been a Mopar man, but I've had so many problems with this SUV that I'm considering dumping it and jumping ship to the FoMoCo fleet. Anyone else have this much trouble? Thanks for any help.

Jass,
Sorry to hear about your problems. Apart from the ball joint issue, my DeeDee has been trouble free apart from normal wear and tear items. I've had mine since nearly new as I bought the dealer's demo car. A lot depends on how a car was maintained and even the best and most expensive car in the world will have issues if poorly treated.
Having said that, a quick Google search yielded a bunch of kits for the Durango P/S pump. Here are just a couple of sites:

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...e&apwidv3n6Yt5
These are for my '99 Dodge, but I'm sure you can put in your own model.
I have not rebuilt a P/S pump though I have done starters and alternators in the past, so I cannot tell you if the one for the Durango is easy or not.

For the cheap price of a reman replacement, you are bringing on trouble by not just swapping it out instead of dicking with rebuilding the old worn out crap. Perhaps the use of that consistent methodology is what has lead to your excessive service history?
