Default 98 durango fan speeds

My fan only works on the 3 lowest speeds. The highest doesn't work. A mechanic replaced a fuse or breaker in the panel by left foot after that it worked on high with heater but when tried high on A/C it stopped working on high. The fan still works even with A/C on except for on high. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Charles

Sounds like a low power (amperage) issue. There is a resistor for the fan motor that is used on the 3 lower speeds, then on high it's connected right to 12v. Check that fuse in the fuse panel by your door and make sure the correct type and rating was put in. I believe it's labeled as a blower motor, also in the PDC box behind your battery check out the fuses and relays in there too.

Sounds like the blower resistor to me.

+1, resistor.

Usual fail leaves high speed only HOWEVER it has been reported that all-but high speed is the lesser happening failure. Both are indeed resistor failure symptoms. Fails to open or fails to close.
