Default Transmission Issue

I recently had a used transmission put in my 98 4x4 durango (I decided to get it used because I got it cheap by knowing someone...150$ and it has 101,000 miles on it) It was from a cash for clunkers durango and it drove fine in that. When I first picked it up from the shop that had put it in for me 1st gear was going all the way up to 2 grand or higher before it would shift to 2nd. Yesterday that went away and it started shifting "normal" but now 2nd to 3rd gear is slipping and it didnt do that before when 1st gear was dragging out to 2300 rpms. If i manually shift it doesnt slip at all. Now I dont know if the transmission is just junk or if there is something with the computer that can be done? Sorry to ramble on it just seems to be something different every time I start it. Thanks-Andy

Sounds like the bands could use an adjustment

i agree w/ a band adjustment, and check the fluid level while the trans is warm (15 miles of driving) w/ the engine running, trans in nuetral on a level surface ect ect
