WhiteWidow, friction modifier in the front differential? I didn't know that... I thought that the fronts were open? ie, no need for the FM.

this is in the wrong section, you need to read the sticky before posting as it says up there, and this is the third post by you on the same issue, no need for that many posts, one post and some patience will get you more help

correct, front differentials are open differentials and you do not need friction modifier

Friction creates heat and heat breaks down metals. You are having serious problems with something locking up so this is why I said add a friction modifier to reduce the amount of friction between the moving parts.

Friction Modifiers are not just for Limited Slip applications and they simply reduce the amount of friction between moving parts whether it be in the crankcase or the differential.

When I had an open differential I used a friction modifier because I did a lot of towing and that put a lot of stress on my rear end.

The friction modifier is simply a recommendation and it's up to your discretion if you want to use it or not but if you keep locking ip in front like that you might be spending $800 on getting a ring and pinion replaced rather than buying a $10 of friction modifier.
