Default Farewell!!

Well, this is goodbye! I traded the Durango today. I had it for sale on Craigslist and got a text message last night wanting to know if I'd trade. Went and looked at it today and pulled the trigger.

Mine: 00 Durango SLT 2wd 5.9L 132k miles

Theirs: 04 Toyota Corolla 89k miles

Traded clear titles straight up.

Theirs books out much higher than the Durango and I think it will be easier to get rid of a 40 mpg car than a 14 mpg SUV. I might keep it and sell the 2001 Mazda Protege I bought last year to save gas.

Sounds like you drew the long stick on that trade! Hopefully you had plenty of years of fun out of your Durango and I wish you plenty more years of fun with your new toy!

Had the Durango for almost 4 years and 50k miles. Had to pry the wife out of it.

The Corolla has been wrecked in the front before and the paint work isn't the best but it's passable. I've already put it up for sale on Craigslist for $5,900 and had a few calls. The Durango sat on Craigslist at $4,900 for almost a month with very little interest and nobody even came to look at it.

I think I made the right decision.

Well, I was right on both accounts. Easier to sell and worth more. I already sold the Corolla and got $5,500!! Never thought I'd get that for the Durango.

My wife is driving the V10 Excursion since she doesn't drive very much and I bought a 2001 Mazda Protege back in November I think, for $2,900 cash. Pretty fun to drive (has the 2.0 instead of the smaller 1.6) and gets close to 30 mpg!

I'm able to pay off a small debt we had with this sale AND also spend about $1,500 on the Excursion. It need ball joints, tie rods, and sway bar bushings. I'm also going to do new springs and shocks all the way around!
