please help 02 durango

Question please help 02 durango

I have 02 durango 4.7 4x4 I put a new torque converter in and now the engine is stalling out everytime i put it in gear no stutter just instant death the converter i took was torn apart inside so i changed all the fluid and both filters inside car starts and idle's fine in park but as soon as i hit any gears it shuts off I drove it 30 miles on the highway and ran just fine shifted into all gears but as soon as i pulled off the exit and hit the stop light it shut right off and no codes as of yet

Honestly to me, it sounds like that new torque converter is either shot or something wasn't installed right. Back in the day when I had my '86 Ram the torque converter was shot and I had the exact same symptoms. Who did the work, you or a shop?

i agree sounds like you got a dud torque converter

Question what about solenoid

i did not replace the tcc solenoid somebody did suggest that to me what do you guys think or just go ahead and fight the company over the torque converter warranty

Hmm... They should have replaced the Clutch Solenoid when they replaced the torque converter so yes, I'd say replace that before you look like an idiot for the warranty company and they say you should have replaced the solenoid. LOL

Could be the TC solenoid?
