Default She's over heating again

So about a month ago i posted having an issue with my durango over heating. how the heat gauge would shoot up than shoot back down.

At that time i replaced the thermostat and the problem went away. well today i was driving to this mudding place by my house and she was overheating again.

the gauge was way up there again 75% of the way to the H. shes also spewing coolant from the top of the reservoir like i mentioned before when she was doing that.

Any ideas this time? i thought the thermostat fixed the problem sense it hasnt happened in a month.

what do you guys think?

I got it from autozone. and she heats up pretty quick all my driving is around town no more than ten miles straight.

Also i dont know if its the t stat that is the problem. she is overflowing from the top of the reservoir. I feel like its a pressure thing. i'm not sure. all i know is its annoying.

It literally just started happening all of the sudden. i hear a little beeping and it was my check gauges light. i automatically looked at my engine heat and it was getting way up there. It hasn't done this in the past month.

what would cause the coolant to leak from the cap/overflow on the top of the reservoir? its getting all over under the hood. its on the battery and crap.

Sounds to me like you have a blockage somewhere and I am inclined to ask, did you do an engine flush at the same time you had the thermostat installed or did you just install it and add fluid as needed?

If not I'd strongly suggest starting with this because there should be no reason you are having coolant spew out of the reservoir at the same time you are overheating.

Widow, i changed the T stat and added fluid as needed. So you're saying i should get the whole system flushed? how much does that cost? And why would it not act up for a month than start all of the sudden?

im feeling like its either a bad stat (yes its possible out of the box) or a bad e-fan or fan clutch

however i have NEVER seen coolant spray out of the radiator cap unless the cap was either bad or missing, if it is spewing out the overflow cap then its just bc as the engine heats up the coolant expands (which is the same reason why the system builds pressure and has the overflow to begin with)

Shrp, i think it is spewing out of both the the yellow plastic cap on the reservoir tank and its overflow. I know my larger fan is working i havent checked the electric fan yet. Idk its annoying now. it just happened out of no where.
