Default R/T Badges

Hi all,

I just bought an '01 R/T with 65K miles. I think I got a good deal at $13.5. The only thing that scared me was the fact that there are no badges on this truck, except the Dodge badge. The interior matches the R/T style, and the VIN # comes back correct, but no exterior badges. After reading through this forum, I notice that it seems to be the thing to do, but why de-badge an R/T?
Does anyone know where I can purchase the 5.9 R/T badge without going through the dealership?
Also, is there any kind of performance shift kit for our R/T's? My tranny definitely needs a pick me up, as its very soft in the shift. I know it needs service as it tends to shift out of overdrive too soon, then immediately shifts back into overdrive. Maybe a new tps is in order?
Thanks for any input you guys can offer, and I look forward to learning all I can about my GREAT new (used) R/T, then sharing it with you all!

You can find the R/T badges on ebay. Here is one.

I have the 5.9 regular and I am having it rebuilt bored 20 over with all the tricks. I am having the trans. rebuilt also and a B&M shift kit put in. It should be the same trans. I want more street performance. Thats why I went with B&M. Transfer case also being torn apart. Cant wait!!![sm=badbadbad.gif]

I would also recommend going through eBay. I don't know why some people de-badge vehicles, let alone R/T's. I mean I could see some instances where you would like show vehicles and such if you are going for that clean look but otherwise maybe they are just embarrassed of what they are driving. LOL Personally, I couldn't be more proud to get in my '03 R/T.

If I remember this correct, the 2000 and possibly 2001 models has the Durango 5.9 R/T badges. 2002's just have the 5.9 R/T's and I think the 2003 models have just R/T badges?

Funny you guys talking about debagged Durangos and all. I think the D with out badges looks kinda like a shved Lab. Just doesn't look right.

I had some issues with my new D as well. I started to question what I bought and finally got ahold of Chry Co and had them send me a build sheet for my ride. It confirmed all the stuff I thought I had with the exceptiuon of 4 wheel ABS. turns out mines a rear ABS only rig. It also turned out the dealer was trying to sell my ride as a R/T because the VIN code system they were using was incorrect. Fotunately I paid several thousands of $$ ($7000 to be exact) below what they were asking.

Hope you find the Badges of course you may find those on one of the Mopar parts center sites too.

Thanks for the help!! I will keep my eyes open for the 5.9 R/T badges.. adding the Durango part makes it too long of a badge for my taste, but I agree, I couldn't be more proud of my new ride, so I will look for a 3rd badge to paste on the lift-gate also, so everyone can see what is ahead of them!

It may be your R/T may have been repainted or the previous owner do not want all those badges on the Truck and had them removed. I seen some Dodge trucks as well as other brands that they intentionally, completely removed all badges off the body to have a clean look???
