Ok, so... I was able to get it done perfectly. Everything works. Just to be clear, I have a 98 Ram that had the old pull *** and my swap was for a 2001 Ram turn switch. I believe the 2001 is different from the 2000 schematics. So, after hours of experimenting I finally figured out how to properly connect each wire... and to everyone else a diagram.

B1 RD/YL or RD/LG->5BK/OR ground, driver door ajar(base)
UTN->4TN, skinny.
B3BL->3BL
PGR/BK->8YL/BK
RBK/YL->1BL/YL
B2PK/RD->2PK/RD
HGR->6GR
ITN-> 14TN, thicker.
DPK/BL-> 11PK/BL
1YL->12YL
2BK/OR->9BK/OR
10WT->13WT same plug(dome).
7LB is fog lamps.

1BK/OR= ground.
2BR/YL= fog lamp relay output.

You can probably tell that there are differences in the switch depending on your trim level, but the primary wires to make it work should be the same. Also, I don't have fog lamps on my truck but if you were to connect the last two wires on this diagram (1BK/OR and 7LB) to your fog lamps in your truck and the 2BR/YL to the relay. I have also attached the wiring diagrams for a 96 Ram and a 01 Ram to better help with assistance. Good luck.

Okay everyone,

This is what i have come up with so far. I have found the easiest match was with a 2000 Dakota switch. The ones marked with a (?) after them, there are 3, are ones that are a guess that (In my mind anyways) made sense at the time. There is one "extra" wire (B1=Fused +) that i have no clue where to put it.

2000 Dakota (New)
1998 Durango (Old)

C1 -------------------------------C2

Pin(New) ~> Pin(Old) -----------Pin(New) ~> Pin(Old)

1 ~> 2(FLS),R --------------------1 ~> 2
2 ~> B2-------------------------- 2 ~> P ?
3 ~> 3(FLS)
4 ~> B3
5 ~> Ground (BK/OR)
6 ~> H
7 ~> 6(FLS)
8 ~> 1(FLS)
9 ~> Ground (BK)
10 ~> D
11 ~> 1(C2)
12 ~> U ?
13 ~> 5(FLS) ?
14 ~> I

Extra: B1(Old)

Fog Lamp Switch (FLS) 98 Only

Pin ----------------------------- Pin

1 Fog Lamp Relay------------------4 Empty
2 Tail,Marker,Side Lamps-----------5 Headlight Switch Dimmable Lamp
3 Ground--------------------------6 Fog Lamp Feed

Did you ever post a guide for this? Thanks

You must be retired, and/or bored.

Default Did your switch have one or 2 plugs?

Trying to figure out what the second plug is for on the back of the switch, nobody seems to reference that yet.

I still have not heard here why someone would want to do this mod? Is there some increased function?

No. Not really. They are a bit more reliable, but that's miniscule. And aesthetics.
