I have a 2002 dodge durango 4.7l and one day while driving it just died. The truck would not start again till it cooled down. It has not overheated past normal operating temp but when it comes to normal operating temp it dies. I replaced the crank sensor, camshaft sensor, tps sensor and the pcm. The PCM was reset by myself anbd the codes disappeared. After ten to fifteen minutes the truck got back up to normal operating temp and when given gas it died. Also I replaced the spark plubs and there was no moisture around them so I don't think I have a blown head gasket. I think I have a sensor out but I dont know which one. MAP sensor, O2 sensor ??????????"?
it almost sounds to me like your PCM is overheating and killing the truck, uncommon for your model year, but more common on the 98/99s with dark colored paint, next time it happens put a bag of ice on the PCM and try starting it, if that does the trick i would replace the PCM
