Hello Folks,

I have had issues with my 2002 Durango Blower Motor and hoping I can help you.

First off, one of the key elements is obviously the resistor. Check it and replace it!

Secondly, inspect the wiring pigtail coming from the blower motor to that resistor. If there are elements burnt out on the resistor, the wiring harness may also have burnt elements.

Thirdly, ensure that the blower motor is woking. Connect it to a different battery. You do not have to remove the blower motor to do this. Take the battery to the passenger side, wire it to the motor directly.

Finally, and this is the real kicker here..... CHECK YOUR IGNITION SWITCH!!!!

I did exploratory surgery to solve this problem for months. It would come on and off it was killing me!!!!!

To check this switch you'll need to pull off the front facing of the dash which is not especially difficult. There are a few screws but it will mostly pop out. The blower motor is wired into the left hand side of the steering column. Mine was blak in one area. The burnt element, it would actually work from time to time because the connector(s) would line up from time to time as I lowered the tilt steering.
