Yes, you can replace the gasket; it's very straight forward. I wouldn't try to make any adjustments, but look for anything that looks like it could be damaged while you have the cover off.

Got it at RockAuto for 32 bucks.....

Yep, too late. LOL

I pulled the #8 plug today since I wasn't doing anything productive, and this is after a couple of days driving..



I put a socket on the valve covers where I saw bolt heads.. I couldn't get them on the threaded ones sticking up..some were a bit loose, but nothing real major, maybe 1/4-1/2 turn to tighten.. I never took them off since I would have to remove a lot of stuff it looks like to get to them. I'll leave it to a pro, don't want to mess anything up. I don't have a backup vehicle.
