Cleaning the rear A/C on a 2000 Durango
I was wondering if it was an easy job to remove the intake grille on the rear A/C to vacuum off the fins on the evaporator coil up in there, as it has some dust and lint and other crap on it when I look up in there. I looked in the A/C thread but didn't see anything about this. I was also kind of curious about where the rear A/C drained, I've only seen the puddle in the front passenger side wheel area, and not one in the back, and I do use the rear A/C quite a bit and haven't seen one in the back.
You can clean around the grille area with a vacuum, but you can't reach the core and coil from there. The grille that you see in the back by the lift gate simply opens into the rear quarter of the body, between the C and D pillars. The HVAC unit itself is located under the interior rear quarter cover, but the first thing on the system that you'd come to on the inlet side would be the centrifugal fan. The heater core and evaporator coil are located within the HVAC unit, and the housing would have to be split to access them.
If you look up underneath behind the passenger side rear tire, you'll see where the two hoses for the heat and two pipes for the AC, enter the unit. On mine, near the two heater hoses there looks to be a drain port. I'd try a pipe cleaner or small bottle brush to make sure that's clear.

On the 2000 the A/C coil is right up there in the ceiling, you can see it, and the vents blow out on the other side. The rear A/C on the 2000 and the 2001 and later models is very different.

I tried to take the baffle off to get to the grille. It's a PITA and ended up creasing the front particle board (upper lining). Still was not able to remove the baffle. I also got lint and other crap builtup and need to clean it off too.
Would like to know how to properly remove the baffle without messing up the cloth lining.

I'm tempted to just blow some air through the vents on the back side and make a mess blowing everything out the way it went it if thats the case, I guess I was hoping the thing just popped right off somehow.
