Actually, you can still buy ATF+3. It is tough to find though. If you do a google search you'll find it. There was a recent debate between Hyrashocker and IndyDurango regarding the use of ATF+3 vs ATF+4 recently. You should be able to find it pretty easily in the search function with keyword ATF+3 in this forum.

I found the thread. It's quite interesting, actually.

As Indy stated, it's all aftermarket now. But it is available if you really want to use it...

The first one is $24.99 + shipping

The second is $12.83 + $13.50 shipping = $26.33

Now, why in the hell would you want to use a fluid that was only made for 30,000 miles before it starts to shear? Not to mention, I can go over to my local (out in the boonies) shop and get Valvoline Fully Synthetic ATF+4 which is a superior fluid and Fully Synthetic for $5.50 a quart. Not to mention Chrysler sent out a TSB about it.

You know what, I'm not going to hash this out again. I put all the backing information in that thread and that is where it will lie. If you wanna spend $50 on a fluid change so be it.

Well....ATF+4 it is! Thanks for all the replies. Just want to ensure this vehicle will last me for another 200k miles if im lucky. Wonder if there has been a 1G dingo that has tacked on a million miles yet?

I agree with you Hydra. I just wanted to show that it's still available. Your info in addition to the fact that it's so hard to find and that Chrysler doesn't produce it anymore is enough for me.

Hello all, I would first like to say this site is the best for any dodge owner. I recently purchased a 5.9L '01 Durango, with the help and knowledge of many members on here I was able to learn so much about my new(used) truck... I got the D with 105k miles on it, after a couple days of just reading many threads/post, I decided to just do a complete maintenance on it. Needed or not, just to peace of mind. So far I've changed the front brakes and rotors, oil, air filter, spark plugs(Champion Coppers!)/cables/coil, pcv, AC relay, coolant, and cleaned the throttle body. All of that done myself with advice I've read on this site. I still have other things I need to do, like rear brakes and the seat rocking, but that will come in time. I am happy I joined and am looking forward to gaining more info and also helping when i can...

Hey Doms- if you do like I did and order everything online at Advance Auto Parts, you can save 20% by using the code P20. I saved over $50 on everything.
