And just throwing this out there you say its getting up to "around" 200 degrees? Isn't the stock t stat on a durango 195 degrees Fahrenheit? So its only running slightly higher if any at all?
It runs around 200 degrees when you're crawling like 5 mph but it takes forever to get there. Probably 20 to 30 minutes. But while going down the road it stays at about 150 degrees which obviously isn't normal.

sounds to me like your stat is stuck open, that code usually goes along with that symptom

also for the 5.2 and 5.9l engines a 180* stat is the way to go on the 4.7 you are best off sticking with the stock 195* stat (yes 195 is stock for both engines)

also i second hydra on the CTM for your other problem

Changing the t stat isn't to hard and it isnt to expensive. Doesnt hurt to try it. But I'd rather be running cooler than hotter thats for sure!

mine did the same try changing the coolent temp sensor. if it starting to head south it will read like this. mine did it and i changed every thing from the rad to the heater core and still the same result until a got a set of a piller pods and one of them was a coolent temp and i needed to use the other location for the factory one so i replaced it and both now read 180 like they should.

Thanks.
You shouldn't have a "Takes Too Long For Warm UP" code issue with a 180 but it is very cold up there so you might want to just replace it with the same OEM because you will want a hotter heater up there....IMHO.....Not as good for your engine, but you will be happier.

Anyway, I think the CTM on the 2000's are behind the drivers side kick panel.

Just figured i'd give everybody an update. Took the thermostat out today and it was broken. Thank god it was stuck open and not shut. Replaced it with a 195 Stant Superstat for 10 bucks and new gasket which was like 2 bucks. Runs at 200 degrees. Perfect, thanks to everyone who replied.
