Its official :/
so its official... my durango is totalled... i have two options... i can get a check for 5300, or i can take a check for 4400 dollars and keep my durango... what do you all think? im thinking 4400 dollars and keep the durango for a project/parts vehicle and but another durango with the 4400 bucks... swap my 9.25 lsd axle onto the new one if its open in the rear... that way ill have lots of spare parts for the new one...
Wow.. can't believe they totaled it. I agree, a difference of $900 bucks and you get to keep it for a project vehicle... seems like a no brainer to me. I guess it will get a salvage title now?
not totally sure... have to replace the gear box, wheel berring, knuckle, control arms, get the frame aligned, etc... well see... if i can get a newer model with less miles for the 5300 i might just do that so im upgraded a bit... and i cant afford to waste any more time waiting for a car...
17% to keep your D is to high. If they are going to give you $5300 (well more than the $3500 we have been discussing vie PM) then you should only have to offer them 10% which is $530. If your numbers are right, then you keep the vehicle and get a check for $4770. Be friendly and settle with them on keeping the D and expecting a check for $4700. Then go buy another one, 2000 model year or higher. Avoid the 98/99s this time around.
