Default i think the fan

Hi all,

I need some help here, i just replaced the serpetine belt in my 99 durango and i noticed that the belt was comming off of the fan pulley. i also noticed there was some give in the pulley too, how do i tighten it or what do i do to fix it?

Most likely the bearing in the water pump is starting to go. But can you take a picture of the issue and post it here?

the belt i bought is a few inches shorter, does that make a difference?

the difference could be a stretched belt thats being taken off.

i agree with hydra if the fan pulley wiggles/gives the water pump bearings are shot, i would fix it before they go completely and throw the fan through the radiator or something along those lines.
