Default 1998 Dodge Durango A/C leak coming from evap!

Hello everyone!
I am new to this site.
I purchased a 98 durango and really like it .. But...
Its a costly vehicle!!
Things I had to replace recently were the transfer case and the a/c compressor. Both I did myself. (The transfer case was a major pain!!)
I really want to replace the evap myself. I heard its on the inside of the fire wall? Not sure how to access it. Does anybody know how to access it exactly? I really want to do the work because it will be right!
If anyone has a complete disassembly instruction on this I would be truly grateful!!!

I also need an abs pump.. AYE! Just morrrre money to spend!!! That one is easy tho!

If anyone can help me with the evap situation I would appreciate it!
Thank you guys!!
Chris

You are correct; the dash has to be pulled. This is easier said than done. If you pay a shop to do it, you'll be paying about 8 hours labor. I recommend replacing the heater core while you are in there. You don't want to take the dash apart more than once.

You've spent a lot of money already? Well time to fork over some more. The evap, core, fan = $850 in parts and $500 in labor on the cheap. If you DIY, it takes all weekend and make sure you bag and label ALL of the parts you remove. There will be many many more than you will expect.

Install instructions are here on the forum in a dozen threads. Use the search.
