Default 2000 Dodge Durango

My 2000 Durango 4x4, 4.7 still has idle problems and dying problems. I have read several post and continue to try to fix it. I have replaced the map sensor, TPS, IAC, and ECM, all new. Now it is getting about 11 MPG and all I can smell is gas while driving. When AC is on it idles fine. Turn AC off and it surges but stays running. While driving with or w/o AC the truck will die when I apply the brakes or decompress the accelerator pedal. I drive with feet on gas and brake to keep it running. I want to know what the fuel pressure should be in park and in drive. And, does this truck have a fuel regulator and if so where is it?

fuel regulator is part of the pump

fuel pressure should be 49+/-2 psi

running rich is usually caused by a bad o2 sensor, this will not always throw a cel code

also where did you get the new PCM (ecm is a ford term i believe) if you bought it online it is possible that you got a bad one

Thinking a bad O2 sensor or your Throttle Body is dirty and needs to be removed and cleaned thoroughly.

Thanks a lot for input. I will replace o2 sensor after reading more on my new thread about the codes on my 2 different durango's. Of coarse I am really working hard on fixing my 2000 durango. I cleaned throttle body but I did not remove it and clean. I did buy the PCM online but it read the same codes has my old one did. There has been no change to how it runs with all the sensors and PCM replacement.

generally its a bad idea to clean the throttle body while is still on the engine... best to get a new seal and take it off and clean it then use the new seal and put it back on

I cleaned throttle body but I did not remove it and clean.
You need to take it off and get some Throttle Body cleaner (2 bottles) and clean out all the ports and use an old tooth brush to clean out the IAC port real good. Clean her out good and install with a new Throttle Body gasket. Then reset the PCM.

To reset your engine codes:
Remove the negative terminal of your battery (10mm wrench).
Turn your ignition key to START and hold it there for about 15 seconds.
Turn your ignition key to OFF and remove it.
Connect the negative terminal of your battery.
Start but do not hit the throttle. Idle for about 10/15 seconds then turn off.
Restart the truck and drive as usual. It will take at least 12 starts and 48 miles to fully retune the computer. Hard Codes leave a shaddow for 40 full cold starts.
