Question What exhaust to buy. . . . . ?

I have a 2001 Durango 4.7L 4x4 and as much as I didn't want to spend $700 on a new exhaust, I probably will. I only want a single out but don't know what sounds good on these. Thanks in advance!

Are you doing a cat-back or the whole thing? Magnaflow and flowmaster sound good. Also check out that new dynomax vt muffler and just have the exhaust shop build the system. Also I put on a 35in cherry bomb glasspack, it is 3in diameter on the factory 2 1/2in. Sounds good, none of the droning and is quiet at 2700 rpm up so it isn't annoying when towing. There are lots of options out there go on youtube and see what others have done, that's how I did mine.

I was thinking about having a shop fab me up some 3" pipe and weld it all up for a CAT-back. But was unsure if it would make it mean sounding. I was also unsure of the muffler or what all I would need to do to make it sound aggressive. It sounds good stock but for obvious V8 reasons, I want more.

I'm partial towards glass packs, but they don't get that deep rumble like a performance muffler unless you do two short ones but you don't want dual exits. Check out some of the different options by each company. Dynomax it just as good a magnaflow or flowmaster without the cost. Also that new vt muffler they have is pretty cool.

Well I have what appears to be an 18" muffler, that seems large.

My factory was 35"x12"x9" approximately, did the PO put on an aftermarket muffler? I guess I don't know how big they were on the 4.7l from the factory.
